Lettera aperta sul cambiamento climatico

In risposta a recenti fuorvianti affermazioni che intendono negare l'influenza umana sui cambiamenti climatici (*), piu' di duecento scienziati italiani che svolgono correntemente ricerca sul clima hanno firmato una lettera aperta che ribadisce l'origine antropica del riscaldamento globale in corso, secondo i piu' recenti risultati della ricerca, condivisi dalla stragrande maggioranza della comunita' scientifica internazionale, e invitano a perseguire politiche di mitigazione e adattamento.

A new satellite precipitation product in EUMETView

A new satellite-based precipitation product has been added to the EUMETSAT web visualization service, EUMETView, since 4 June 2019. The product was developed within the EUMETSAT Satellite Application Facility on Support to the Operational Hydrology and Water Management (H SAF).  CNR-ISAC is a H SAF consortium member in charge for the scientific development of the satellite precipitation algorithms.

Una convenzione operativa fra il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Ambiente, del Territorio e delle Infrastrutture (DIATI) del Politecnico di Torino e l’Istituto di Scienze dell’Atmosfera e del Clima (ISAC), del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR)  promuove la collaborazione sui temi del monitoraggio, dell’adattamento e della mitigazione dei cambiamenti climatici globali.

Suoni d’Appennino

In the framework of the project "Sounds of the Apennines - Potential of a territory to be enhanced", promoted by the Emilia Romagna Region, the University of Bologna and UNCEM (https://www.suonidappennino.it/), Fico Foundation is hosting a series of meetings about Apennines and Sustainable Development.

On May 30th 2019, a round table (topic: Mountains and climate changes) will be hosted. Paolo Cristofanelli (CNR-ISAC) will describe the researches carried out at the atmospheric observatory "O. Vittori" at Monte Cimone.

The beautiful Landscape: the mountains and mountain pastures festival

On Friday April 5th, CNR-ISAC will present the educational activities of “the Path of Atmosphere” at Monte Cimone, in the framework of "The beautiful landscape" a three-day event dedicated to the first edition of the International Forum on landscape and territorial marketing (April 5th) and the Mountain Festival (April 6th and 7th).

The event, organized by FICO Foundation, together with FICO Eataly World, is divided into two main moments:

World Meteorological Day 2019

The Italian Association of Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology (AISAM), in collaboration with the University of Rome “Sapienza”, the National Research Council and the Italian Air Force, organizes on March 23 in Rome an event to celebrate the 2019 World Meteorological Day occurring every year on the anniversary of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) foundation.
