AFV: Arctic Fog Variability in a Warming Arctic and Its Impact on Maritime Human Activities

The project concerns the study of fog-sea ice feedback using numerical models developed in ISAC-CNR, focusing on simulation of fog formation with high vertical resolution in the PBL, change of radiation fluxes with and without sea ice at the surface, possibility of fog forecast in an operational meteorological prediction context.  The numerical simulations of the Arctic PBL are verified against the time series available from the Climate Change Tower, located in Ny Alesund, Svalbard Islands.
