During the last General Assembly of the IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics), held in Berlin from 11 to 20 July 2023, Mario Marcello Miglietta was elected new member of the prestigious International Commission for Dynamic Meteorology (ICDM; https://www.iamas.org/icdm/). It is one of the ten commissions that ensure the work of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS; www.iamas.org). It is made up of 25 scientists from a wide range of countries who are committed to furthering the pursuit of and international cooperation in the science of dynamical meteorology.
Among the upcoming activities, the commission will take care of the organization of a workshop on extreme events in China, at the Nanjing University International Conference Center, in October 2024, and some sessions of the next IAMAS workshop to be held in South Korea in July 2025 (http://baco-25.org/2025/english/main/index_en.asp).
