Database Oceanografico "CTD/Rosetta" - from 1996

CNR-ISAC has been organizing yearly oceanographic cruises for more than 10 years, with the following objectives:
1.In situ sea-truth for satellite ocean color algorithm validation/implementation
2.Studies in ocean dynamics and dynamical/physical/chemical constraints on microalgal biomass (mesoscale in particular)
3.Coastal/estuarine water biogeochemical surveys (also for Case 2 - i.e. turbid, coastal - water satellite ocean color)
4.More “engineering” applications (e.g. oil spill detection)
The R/V Urania of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) is the research vessel employed by ISAC, on board of which CTD vertical profiles (pressure, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, light transmission, fluorimetry) and Rosette water samples (e.g. for oxygen CTD sensor calibration) are routinely taken.
