FRANCESCA BECHERINI
Graduated in Physics with full marks in 1999 at the University of Padua, discussing a thesis on the Mechanical-Statistic Approach to the reverse Protein Folding problem (Protein Design).
PhD in Science for Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the University of Florence after a 3 years Microclimatic Study in Cultural Heritage sites.
Since 2002 researcher at the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate (I.S.A.C.) of the National Research Council of Italy (C.N.R.), Padua.
Main activities:
- Study and research in the fields of Atmospheric Science and Microclimatology
- Monitoring of the indoor and outdoor microclimate for the protection and conservation of movable and immovable Cultural Heritage
- Microclimatic field surveys at national (Correr Museum, Venice; Uffizi's Gallery, Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Santa Croce Cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio, Firenze, Petrarca's tomb, Padova) and european levels (Louvre Museum and Sainte Chapelle of Paris, Saint Urbain Basilica of Troyes, Lascaux Caves, France; Santiago Cathedral, Spain; Cologne Cathedral, Germany; National Gallery, Oslo; City of Salè, Morocco; Hagar Qim Temple, Malta)
- Use of automatic and manual instruments for the measurements of microclimatic parameters, data analysis and interpretation
- Research and development of innovative sensors for the microclimatic monitoring
