Doctor in Physics in 1970 at the University of Bologna,
Since 1970 she has been researcher at the Istituto FISBAT (actual ISAC) of the National Research Council-CNR (Italy),
where she is presently Research Director and Scientific Co-ordinator of the Group of Historical Climatology.
Her main scientific interest were in Sun Earth relationship and Climate variation of the Mediterranean basin.
She has been responsible and coordinator in national and international research projects on Reconstruction of historical
climate of the Mediterranean area.
She was for seven years CNR representative on the advisory committee of the ESF project European Palaeoclimate and Man since
Last Glaciation.
She organized national and international workshops.
She carried out an intense activity of teaching, evaluation, editorial work.
She authored and co-authored more than 100 publications.
