LACOST (Coastal Atmospheric Laboratory, Saline di Tarquinia) in Lazio is a laboratory for atmospheric monitoring of the coast using innovative ground-based remote sensing instruments and turbulence sensors.
LACOST is intended as a tool for research and environmental management; realized by ISAC-CNR, funded by the Consortium for the Management of Environmental Observatory of Civitavecchia and managed in accordance with ARPA Lazio.
LACOST measurements:
three-dimensional wind, thermal structure of the atmosphere, mixed layer height, turbulent flows of heat and moment, atmospheric radiation, temperature, humidity, precipitation.
