Sources of Aerosol and Trace Gases

Target of this research topic is the characterization of natural and anthropogenic sources of aerosols and trace gases using source-oriented and receptor-oriented approaches. The main activities are focused on the analysis of the concentration levels of atmospheric aerosols having different particle sizes (from ultrafine particles to PM10), with low and high temporal resolution, its chemical composition and how it is correlated with the trace gases present in the atmosphere. An important aspect is the development and use of statistical methods (multivariate) for the evaluation of the contribution of specific sources, as well as the study of processes and transformation of pollutants during their life cycle in the atmosphere.
