Legend of the real-time lightning window:

  • The real-time window reportes the identified strikes over a geographic area (radius: 600 km) centered at Monte Cimone. Time is expressed in UTC+1
  • STRIKES: number of strikes recorded in the last 60 minutes and currently shown.
  • +CG: counter for positive cloud to ground strikes.
  • -CG: counter for negative cloud to ground strikes.
  • +IC: counter for positive intercloud/intracloud ground strikes.
  • -IC: counter for negative intercloud/intracloud ground strikes.
  • STRIKERATE DATA: trend graphic showing activity (number strikes/minute) over the last 60 minutes.
  • LIGHTINING ACTIVITY: Date (current day); Time (current time as UTC+1); History (highest age of visualized strokes).
  • ACCUMULATED TOTALS: Strikes (daily counter for lightning strike number); Noises (daily counter for noise strike number).
  • SYSTEM SETTINGS: information about system configuration.
  • STRIKE COLOR KEY: color coding strike aging (in minutes).
ATTENTION! Some common devices (electric motors, radio transmitters, televisions and computer monitor, wireless devices) can create noises and phantom strikes. The information here provided cannot be used for the protection of life or property
